In August 2024, year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Sulawesi Barat Province will be 1.59 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.69. The highest inflation occurred in Mamuju at 1.72 percent with a CPI of 104.99 and the lowest occurred in Majene Regency at 1.49 percent with a CPI of 106.14.

Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in all expenditure group indices, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 2.34 percent; clothing and footwear group at 0.97 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.17 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 0.71 percent; health group by 0.01 percent; transportation group at 0.41 percent; information, communication and financial services group at 0.23 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 1.25 percent; education group of 2.94 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 3.76 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 2.22 percent.

The month to month (m-to-m) deflation rate for Sulawesi Barat Province is 0.13 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate is 0.46 percent.
