Abstract
In May 2024, year on year (y-on-y) inflation in Sulawesi Barat Province will be 1.25 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.46. The highest inflation occurred in Mamuju at 2.21 percent with a CPI of 104.82 and the lowest occurred in Majene Regency at 0.63 percent with a CPI of 105.87.
Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 1.85 percent; health group at 2.33 percent; transportation group at 0.81 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 2.06 percent; education group at 0.67 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 5.75 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 1.72 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decline in the index were: clothing and footwear group by 2.44 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.09 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 0.21 percent; and the information, communication and financial services group at 0.20 percent.
The month to month (m-to-m) deflation rate for Sulawesi Barat Province is 0.07 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate is 0.24 percent.
