Abstract

  • The economy of Sulawesi Barat in Q3-2024 as measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices reached 16.19 trillion rupiah, while at constant 2010 prices it reached 9.32 trillion rupiah.

  • The economy of Sulawesi Barat in Q3-2024 experienced growth of 2.16 percent when compared to Q3-2023 (y-on-y). Increased creation of added value occurred in most business field categories. The largest source of economic growth occurred in the wholesale and retail trade, car and motorcycle repair categories. Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure, the largest source of economic growth came from the Household Consumption Expenditure component.

  • The economy of Sulawesi Barat in Q3-2024 experienced a contraction of 0.91 percent compared to Q2-2024 (q-to-q). When viewed from the business field side, the largest source of economic growth was in the information and communication category. When viewed from the expenditure side, the largest source of economic growth is the export component.

  • The Sulawesi Barat economy cumulatively in the third quarter of 2024 (cumulative quarters I to III of 2024) experienced growth of 4.09 percent when compared to the cumulative quarter III-2023 (c-to-c).

  • On a regional scale in the Sulawesi Maluku Papua Region, the highest economic growth in the third quarter of 2024 y-on-y occurred in West Papua at 19.56 percent, followed by Sulawesi Tengah at 9.08 percent. Meanwhile, Sulawesi Barat experienced growth of 2.16 percent, ranking ninth out of ten provincial positions.
