Abstract
In March 2024, the percentage of poor people (population with monthly per capita expenditure below the Poverty Line) in Sulawesi Barat Province was 11.21 percent or down 0.28 percentage points compared to March 2023.
In absolute terms, the number of poor people in Sulawesi Barat Province in March 2024 was 162.19 thousand people, a decrease of 1.95 thousand people compared to March 2023.
The percentage of poor people in urban areas in March 2023 was 9.08 percent, rising to 9.29 percent in March 2024. Meanwhile, the percentage of poor people in rural areas decreased from 12.10 percent down 0.40 percent to 11.70 percent in March 2024.
The role of food commodities on the Poverty Line is greater than the role of non-food commodities (housing, clothing, education and health). Food Poverty Line Contribution to the Poverty Line in March 2024 was recorded at 77.55 percent. This condition has increased compared to March 2023, namely 77.20 percent
