Abstract

• In March 2021, the percentage of the poor (residents with per capita expenditure per month below the poverty line) in Sulawesi Barat Province was 11.29 Percent, down 0.21 percent points compared to September 2020 and increased 0.42 percent points compared to March 2020.

• Absolute, the number of poor people of Sulawesi Barat Province in March 2021 as many as 157.19 thousand people, decreased by 1.86 thousand people compared to September 2020 and increased by 5.17 thousand people compared to March 2020.

• The percentage of poor people in urban areas in September 2020 was 9.98 percent fell to 9.82 percent in March 2021. Likewise the percentage of poor people in rural areas decreased by 11.89 percent in September 2020 to 11.67 percent on 11.67 percent March 2021.

• The role of food commodities on poverty lines is greater than the role of non-food commodities (housing, clothing, education, and health). The contribution of the food poverty line on the poverty line in March 2021 was recorded at 76.80 percent. This condition is not much different from September 2020 which is 76.93 percent.
