Abstract
In January 2024, Year on Year (Y-On-Y) inflation in Sulawesi Barat Province was 2.25 percent with a consumer price index (CPI) of 105.29. The highest inflation occurred in Majene Regency by 3.41 percent with CPI of 106.60 and the lowest occurred in Mamuju by 0.86 percent with CPI of 103.26.
Y-on-Y inflation occurs due to an increase in prices shown by the increase in the expenditure group index, namely: food, beverage and tobacco groups by 3.33 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups by 0.46 percent; Groups of equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance by 0.93 percent; health group by 2.55 percent; Transportation group of 1.79 percent; Recreation, sports and culture groups of 8.38 percent; education group by 0.67 percent; Food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 6.11 percent; and private maintenance groups and other services by 1.01 percent. While the expenditure group experienced a decrease in index, namely: clothing and footwear groups by 0.38 percent; and the information, communication and financial services group of 0.25 percent.
Month to Month (M-to-M) inflation rate and Year to date (y-to-D) inflation rates in Sulawesi Barat Province in January 2024 each amounting to 0.08 percent.
