In August 2024, Unemployment Rate of Sulawesi Barat Province was 2.68 percent while the Labor Force Participation Rate was 71.40 percent

The number of the workforce in August 2024 was 778.38 thousand people, an increase of 18.10 thousand people compared to August 2023. Meanwhile, the Labor Force Participation Rate also increased by 0.35 percentage points to 71.40 in August 2024.

The unemployment rate in August 2024 was 2.68 percent, an increase of 0.41 percentage points compared to August 2023.

The working population was 757.51 thousand people, an increase of 14.50 thousand people compared to August 2023. The employment sector that experienced the largest percentage increase was the Manufacturing Industry Sector (2.25 percentage points). Meanwhile, the sector that experienced the largest decline was the Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries Sector (1.91 percentage points).

A total of 72.08 percent (546.01 thousand people) worked in informal activities, up 0.19 percentage points compared to August 2023.

The percentage of underemployed workers increased by 1.67 percentage points, while the percentage of part-time workers decreased by 3.29 percentage points compared to August 2023.
