Abstract
In March 2023, the level of inequality of population expenditure of Sulawesi Barat Province measured by the Gini Ratio was recorded at 0.351. This figure dropped 0.020 points when compared to the Gini Ratio September 2022. Meanwhile when compared to the Gini Ratio March 2022 which was 0.362, the Gini Ratio March 2023 fell by 0.011 points.
Gini Ratio in urban areas in March 2023 was recorded at 0.452, down by 0.020 points when compared to the September 2022 Gini Ratio of 0.472 and an increase of 0.004 points when compared to the Gini Ratio March 2022 which was 0.448. While the Gini Ratio in the Rural Area in March 2023 was recorded at 0.308, down by 0.007 points when compared to the Gini Ratio September 2022 and fell by 0.014 points when compared to the Gini Ratio March 2022 which was 0.322.
In March 2023, the distribution of expenditure of the lowest 40 percent population group was 19.56 percent. This means that the expenditure of the population is still in the category of low inequality. If detailed according to the region, in urban areas, the figure is recorded at 15.41 percent which means it is in the category of moderate inequality. As for rural areas, the figure is recorded at 21.12 percent, which means it is included in the category of low inequality.
