Abstract

• The economy of Sulawesi Barat the first quarter of 2021 as measured by Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at current prices reached 11.47 trillion rupiah, while at constant prices in 2010 reached 7.92 trillion rupiah.

• Economy of Sulawesi Barat the first quarter of 2021 contracted by 1.20 percent compared to the same quarter in 2020 (y-on-y). Reduction of the value added that occurs in some categories of business fields cause the economy to contract, despite the growth of value added in other categories. Source biggest economic contraction occurred in the category of educational services, followed by the category of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, and construction category. In terms of expenditure, the economic contraction is dominated by a decline in GFCF.

• Economy of Sulawesi Barat the first quarter of 2021 contracted by 2.73 percent compared to the fourth quarter of 2020 (q-to-q). If the terms of the field of business, the source of the biggest economic contraction experienced by the category of public administration, defense and compulsory social security and education services category. If in terms of expenditure, the economic contraction is dominated by a decline in government consumption expenditure.
